About
I’m Dr. Lucy Emily Blandford, a scientist-turned-designer with a PhD in Cellular Microbiology and a passion for transforming complex research into clear, compelling visuals.
With over a decade of academic research experience and published work in host–microbiome interactions, molecular biology, and microbial pathogenesis, I understand the importance of communicating science with both accuracy and clarity. During the pandemic, I retrained in graphic design, gaining proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and UI/UX principles, and discovered a new way to communicate science through design.
Now I combine scientific expertise with visual storytelling to create infographics, graphical abstracts, posters, presentations, and custom visuals that make research more accessible, whether for journal submission, grant proposals, public outreach, or lab training.
I design with researchers in mind: bold, clean, and data-driven visuals that help ideas stick and elevate the impact of your work.
